Home Is Where The Pet Is.

Picture
In this children’s comical thriller, an unlikely friendships formed between three ghosts, Poppy the cat, Winston the dog, and Ham the hamster. In life, this odd trio would not have been friends; however, their undying love for their owner brings them together to execute a military-style mission to write a wrong and save a life. Along the way, the team discovers that navigating through the living world is hard to do as ghosts, but they work together to accomplish their goals.

Since Pilot passed away, she has been learning how to be Lottie’s pet ghost after being her pet cat for nine years. Although Poppy is sad that she cannot see her anymore, she is content — Poppy can follow her everywhere. Then one day his new life is shattered after Lottie returns home with a new puppy. Determined not to let Harlow the Puppy replace her, Poppy sets about spooking the pup trying to make Lottie return him. Poppy is happy when her plan works. She follows Lottie with Harlow to the shelter, only to be filled with remorse after seeing all the homeless dogs and cats.

Poppy meets the pets who came before her — Ham and Winston. Poppy understands she has made a grave mistake, and now she has the help she needs to put it right. The tree decided on a plan of action, yet they do not foresee the obstacles of being a ghost trying to interact with the real world. Putting their mission into action, the trio finds themselves in the rescue shelter trying to save Harlow. However, they quickly discover ghost animals do not mix well with real-world animals. With setbacks and challenges, Poppy and her new friends refuse to give up — even when it feels as if nothing they do is going to work. With time running out, they pull together desperate to bring Harlow home to Lottie.

Coaching review
I love to read books and this book lived up to my expectations, if not more. I loved the first book gut feeling and was so pleased when seeing a new book was out by this author.
